| How dare you!! Michael Newdow of Elk Grove, California and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals…how dare you!! Sue to have the Pledge of Allegiance banned from being recited in public schools in nine western states because the phrase, “under God” offends atheists? Values…Values…Values, family and otherwise...Patriotism in the wake of 9-11. Sure, we understand the Constitution…First Amendment…but, sometimes “Common Sense” has to prevail. I’ll bet doctor/lawyer Michael Newdow won’t burn any of his American money because it has the phrase, “In God We Trust” on it. The great thing about the “Freedoms” America has is that Mr. Newdow has the right to leave this country anytime…unlike Cuba. He also has the right to speak his mind…unlike China. But, he doesn’t have the right to undermine America and its traditions. Maybe he is offended…but I’m offended when a pretty woman doesn’t give me the time of day. I’m offended when I have to watch Carrot Top doing AT&T ads minute by minute. I’m offended when I get my tax bill. I’m offended by the prices at Starbucks. I’m offended by Boy Bands such as N’Sync and The Backstreet Boys. But, I got over it!! You can argue Constitutional Rights etc…etc…but nothing trumps America…Spirit…and Patiotism! The gifts of this Great Country…Loyalty…”I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for Which it Stands, One Nation Under God”. If the phrase, “under God” , used in the Pledge of Allegiance is illegal then call me an Outlaw!! |
