America has lost it's ability to laff... at itself,at others,at people you know , people you don't know, about anythang...and we're afraid to laff for fear,the P.C. police will attack us and call us racist, sexist, homophobic ... or something else ... America is ashamed of itself for having fun... " Barbie & Ken sexist ,racist ", " The Teletubby's Gay" " Native American Names for Athletic Teams "... calm down people... Hall of Fame Babe Ruth was once asked , "Hey you made more money than the president this year", The Babe said, "Yes I did, I had a better year than he did"... Bob Hope would do jokes Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagen... Those presidents would be on the dais !... then they would get up and do jokes on Bob Hope and others... what are the chances Jon Stewart and Bill Maher would even be allowed on the same dais as our President ? The P.C. Police are like the Gestapo, CIA, KGB whether they're Black,Women,Hispanic,Gay, or anything else... There's this "Gotcha" P.C. Police out there, waiting to nit pick everythang... It's gotten so bad , sitcoms a staple of American entertainment, landscape for over fifty years are basically gone... because America has Lost its funny...Classic sitcoms like "Amos & Andy", "The Honeymooners" ( "to the moon Alice"... every woman's group in the world would go crazy)..."I Love Lucy" ... ( " Lucy you got some splainin' to do" ... in broken Spanish...If they couldn't handle the " Taco Bell Chihuahua" how do you think the Hispanic lobby would handle the classic " I Love Lucy " show... (not to mention woman's groups)... There would be no chance for "All In The Family" to even get on cable under the rule of the " P.C. Police"...it would be impossible... every P.C. group in the world would be up in arms... about all the characters and their political shading... We've come to the point that we now have a Faux group we can have fun with... "The Cavemen".. a national T.V. Commercial that points out the absurdity of our P.C. culture... Years ago there was the "Rat Pack" ...legends Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Joey Bishop... they worked for years... making fun of each others' cultural differences... There's very little comedy around other than "Gotcha" comedy or "Blue Comedy" and it was never like that... until America stopped laughing... You may say what about those "Shock Jocks"...The Opie & Anthonys, Mancows, Don Imus, and Howard Sterns of the world, they're offensive... well we now have satellite radio... there's room and an audience for "Porn Radio"... people are willin' to pay for it...no problem... Many major artists would be muted for their comments... entertainers like Will Rogers, Mark Twain,Jack Benny, W.C. Fields, Mae West, etc. etc... would be P.C.'d outta business...The news networks, talk radio, and the atmosphere of of the pundits, P.C. groups have help destroy laughter in our society... Now we have more people that make a living in this "Gotcha Journalisim " than we have people who are making us laff... All three major news networks spend all day with people attacking and screaming at each other... I hope we haven't given up on laughter in the name of Political Correctness... Would America be better off without shows like, "All In The Family", "The Honeymooners", and "I Love Lucy"? The talents of Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, W.C. Fields, etc, etc...NO !... Networks like, "Nickelodeon" , "T.V. Land", and "T.V. One" have done very well running " Classic T.V." ... America needs to go into "Comedy Rehab"...and get it's funny back. |
